Dreadball Season 3 – Beta rules

In case you haven’t noticed, Jake Thornton has been something of a busy beaver in the last few weeks, posting up lots of Beta test rules for Dreadball Season 3, amongst other things…

We’ve finally got to see the ‘Ultimate’ pitch…

…and we are starting to see the Season 3 models over on the Mantic Blog.

Just in case you missed them, here are links to the following Beta test DB rules

The Nameless Beta rules

Teraton Beta rules

Asterian Beta rules

Zee Beta rules

The beta testing is now complete and Jake has (I believe) finished the Season 3 rulebook, but it’s going to be a while before we see the finished article, so these beta rules can help prepare you for the Season 3 release over the summer.

  1. That is just insane. I’ve played about 7 games of Dreadball total. I’m just getting used to season 1. I’m not ready for that yet.

That said, it great to know there’s something to move up to in the future.

    1. Well, it’s good to see that Mantic are keeping with their proposed publishing schedule, and it will mean that players will have a choice of 12 teams when playing, plus extras – but agree, it is a lot to take in within the space of a year.

  2. I assume the ultimate pitch is a 3 player game? Very interesting. i wonder how well it balances? It is tempting to get into this game, but i really dont want to paint 28mm miniatures anymore. I’d rather a game that had more figures, but 15mm. Not as much money in 15mm though i expect.

    1. the ultimate board is fora 3 team OR 6 team match. don’t have the rule book yet but can’t wait to see how that works!

  3. I’m ordering the Ultimate set but don’t have the rules to decide what extra team I want. Are the Beta rules listed here the same as what is in print? TANKZ!
