Manoeuvre Board Game – is there any need for this now?

In 2008, GMT Games released the board wargame Manoeuvre.

This game has difficult to get hold of, as it’s been out of print for quite some time.

However, it would appear that it has just been reprinted (it’s going to available to buy in the UK from the 22nd November) – but the question is, with C&C: Napoleonics just about to be released, is there any reason to buy this older game?

Let me know what you think…

  1. I was just going to say that I am not a big fan of Napoleonics so Manoeuvre held little interest to me but then I read Combat Comander Napoleonics?!? I like the Combat Comander gaming system and it would get me to “try” a Napoleonics game if certain members of my local gaming group bought a copy 😉

    ArrrOOooo!

Neil I don’t think you ever reviewed Combat Commander Europe from GMT did you? If so could you point me to the episode, if not, have you played it? What do you think?

  2. Bleh it’s command and colours 😉 I should have known they couldn’t use the combat commander system for Napoleonics 😀

    ArrrOOooo!

  3. Buy Manoeuvre? ABSOLUTELY.

Wonderful, little game. Rules are easier than C&C. Components could be better… well, the cards and chits are fine but the boards for the first edition warp and were nothing special to look at. I bought a very cheap poster frame at Walmart to solve that problem.

Game play is solid. I have tons of games in my collection. This one is always at the top of the stack.
