  1. Great episode as usual. The audio wasn’t nearly as bad as you said at the beginning – but then I was using ear buds.

I agree. I enjoyed it and the sound wasn’t too bad. Thanks, I hope there is more to come soon, or maybe another summer role playing adventure like last year?

    • Currently editing the next show – should be out at the weekend

Excellent! Finishing nights on Monday morning so that should be some nice quiet listening time Monday afternoon with a cup of tea and I my dressing gown (dreading the noisy children getting home)

  3. I may be your harshest critic on sound quality (the quality of the banter has always been top notch) and I appreciate your explanation at the beginning, but it was not too bad.

I have made that same mistake. My band is about to go on, I’ve got 8 mics set up. Only to find out afterwards that 2 of the inputs were set to “internal mic” instead of the ones I had so painstakingly placed. It’s the way it goes when you are both the engineer and the performer.

As I’ve said before, your recent sound improvements have been a huge step up. In this situation, that almost makes it worse for you, because your are thinking “we finally have this sorted and we sound really good now” and then this happens. That said, is seems you rescued it to a large extent in post.

Don’t look at that rescue as time wasted. Look at it as lesson learned – not only to check the input setting, but now you know how to fix those issues in post!

I’m looking forward to the next episode. Thanks again for your great podcast that has given me so many hours of enjoyment, and introduced me to so many great games. (if you take my hours of enjoyment of the games YOU introduced me to – Dreadball, SAGA, Chain Of Command – then that’s a whole crap-ton of enjoyment hours I owe you.)

  4. Glad to hear Flintloque getting a mention – it really is a decent set of Napoleonic skirmish rules if you disregard the magic side (which is pretty limited). Personally I like the figures as they have a lot of character and are very reasonably priced.
