Podcast editing woes…

Probably not the blog post title you wanted to see…

We are currently having problems with editing some of the podcasts that we have recently recorded…

Having consulted with Mike Whitaker, we are probably going to have to bin the scenery show we recorded due to some major issues with clipping during the recording.

I’m also having some major issues with the Sword and Spear show due to some horrible noise interference – it’s going to need some major audio repair work before we can publish it.

In some good news, we recorded a show on Friday using Google Hangout which is thankfully free of noise and other issues – I’m going to edit that and see how good that is.

In the mean time, if anyone has any recommendations for some decent digital recording software that we can use to record Skype / Google Hangout, then I would love to hear from you.

FYI – we used to use Pretty May, which was great but doesn’t work with Skype 7.

We have currently been using Total Recorder and Talkhelper – both of which we have been having problems with.

Did you get my message about 1:48 vehicles?

  2. Record with Google Hangout (rock solid), then download the video from YouTube. Open it in iMovie, strip out the audio (very easily done in iMovie), save it as an .mp3.
