Hereward Wargames Show

Catch the Pigeon - Huntingdon and District Wargames Society

Had a great day at the inaugural Hereward Wargames Show today.

There were some lovely looking games put on, and plenty to look at and buy in a venue which was spacious and well lit (which makes a nice change). Peterborough Wargames Club did a grand job in organising the show, and I certainly had a good time. I hope it was a success and look forward to next year.

I’m going to be writing a show report for Miniatures Wargames, and we also recorded some audio that will appear on the next show, but here is a (very) quick taster of the day in pictures, highlighting a few of the games that were on offer:

It was a well organised and run show – most impressed. They even had a steward in the Sainsburys car park to redirect those who had not followed the directions properly…that’ll be us then!
Meant to say as well, really liked those Deep Cut Studio mats used in the “Men who would be Kings” game which you show above…that particular one looked superb for the north-west frontier but I’m tempted to get one for my 15mm Sudan campaign (which is half a lead-pile at the moment). I’m hoping to make that my “next big project” for next year, but havent settled on a set of rules yet!

Last thing Sue said to me before I left for Peterborough…”they’ll be expecting a cake every time now…” And I said “No they wont – they arent used to people being nice to them at all!”.

Different note – unused “Great War” for £40 odd…good price?
