Kickstarter Round-Up – 16th September 2016
A bumper week for new Kickstarter projects this week, so much so that I’ve had to spli them down into sub-categories for this week!
Miniatures
Kev White does Matt Dixon
Hasslefree Miniatures have a KS project, which is funding a new project – Kev White is sculpting miniatures based upon the fantasy artwork of Matt Dixon, who has produced a series of female ‘pin-up’ illustrations. Each picture will inspire three different miniatures – the first based on the artwork, the second being a ‘skyclad’ version of the miniature, and the third being dressed in garb suitable for winter (and thus a certain Frost-based skirmish game?)
Funding for this has gone mad, having currently exceeded it’s £4,000 funding goal by over 900%, and it still has 16 days to run! It finishes on October 2nd 2016.
Advanced Song of Blades and Heroes: Axe & Brimstone
Axe and Brimstone is new expansion for Advanced Song of Blades and Heroes. The project is funding a new campaign book for these rules, plus two new warbands – Possessed Dwarfs and Halflings. Certain pledges also include a 3′ x 3′ terrain mat.
The project is over 100% funded, and is due to finish on the 11th October 2016.
Turncoat Games WW2 Cavalry
Turncoat Games are designing a range of 28mm World War II Cavalry figures for the Russian and Japanese armies. These are planned to be produced in a mix of resin and metal, and have separate arms, legs and heads to give multi-pose figures.
This has a funding goal of £2.500 and is currently 60% funded. The project ends on the 12th October 2016.
War is Coming – Forest Goblins
Shieldwolf Miniatures are running a project to fund a new box of 28mm multi-part plastic Forest Goblins. A box will contain 25 miniatures.
The project has a funding goal of $25,000, and is just over half way there at time of writing. with 12 days still to go – the project finishes on the 28th September 2016
Stonehaven’s Giants
Stonehaven Miniatures are funding a range of RPG characters with a difference…they are all giant races! (Trolls and Giants)
These are proving popular, and the project has reached almost 200% of it’s original $7.500 funding goal. It’s running until the 4th October 2016.
Masters of the Deep Wargame
Masters of the Deep is a Miniatures War Game based on the boardgame of the same name. The game will contain 55 plastic miniatures from four different factions – it certainly looks interesting!
The game has a funding goal of $15,000, and is around 65% funded at time of writing. The project finishes on the 15th October 2016
Halfling Wizards & Apprentices
Following their last successful Kickstarter, Midlam Miniatures are back with a new project to create more Wizard sculpts – this time of Halflings.
The project has already reached over 300% of its modest £600 funding goal, and is due to run until 16th October
Terrain
Laser Cut Miniature Tabletop RPG Terrain
Company Firefly Laser are producing some MDF Laser Cut kits for tabletop gaming. Their first two kits are for a Tavern and a Shanty, with lost of interior scatter terrain.
They are almost 200% funded, and the project is due to finish on the 14th October
Klip’N Play 28mm Scenery
French Company Klip’N Play are producing a range of colour clip-together wood/cardboard laminated and coated scenery. This project is for some new industrial scenery and some ruins.

Massive 28mm Zeppelin Model
Finally, if your 28mm Pulp/Steampunk/WW1 game demands a big playing area, how about 73 inch long Zeppelin?
Better hurry though, as according to the project, there are only three more available, although at $350 a time, this might be something of a luxury purchase!
Accessories
DS’tone Art – Space Game Mats
DS’tone Art is producing a third wave of vinyl space gaming mats in 3′ x 3′ and 6′ x 3′, with artwork based on various nebula.
They are looking for a $1,000 funding goal, and are currently around 20% funded. The project is running until the 3rd October 2016

Boardgames
