On the painting table – 24th January 2017
It’s the end of the first week of the 30-minute-a-day painting challenge that I set myself, so time to check on my progress.
At the start of last week, my painting table looked a bit like this…
…which is basically where it was at the end of September last year.
The time schedule was generally OK, though with a gaming night and podcast editing to do, it did mean that I ended up doing some ‘catch-up’ over the weekend to make up for missing a couple of nights at the end of last week.
I’ve been pretty pleased with the results of the first week:
First off, I have finished the Terran Alliance Ground Attack Helix for my Planetfall army, which brings the number of painted Helix to three. The only question was to whether I permanently attached the stowed Huscarl Heavy Infantry (those walkers at the front of the picture) to the Dellingr Heavy Transport or not. In the end I decided to use Blu-Tack, as it means I can remove the Huscarls from the transport once they have been deployed on the ground (it’s a bit anal, but looks good during the game).
I’ve also started the Ground Command Helix, and am at the point where I can start drybrushing on the Slepnir Command Barge and the Ullr support tanks.
If I can get this second unit completed by this coming weekend, I’ll be happy.
