Painting Tally – February 2019

February turned out to be a much better month for painting than January had been. Not only did I finally finish those damned Normans, but I also made a start on all the miniatures that I had acquired for Rangers of Shadow Deep

32 Norman cavalry, plus 8 giant spiders and 12 giant rats. On previous performances, this was a very good month.

YTD Painted: 52

Purchased: 95

Last month was always likely to be a big month for purchasing miniatures, as it included the first wargames show of the year. Couple this with buying more miniatures for Rangers of Shadow Deep and catching up with Star Wars Legion releases, and many figures were added to the lead/plastic mountain.

First up were 29 miniatures for Burrows & Badgers, a number that was swelled by the arrival of their latest kickstarter.

Then we had LOTS of creatures for Rangers of Shadow Deep – 51 models in total.

Finally there were four new boxes of Star Wars Legion to collect – 15 additional models here.

Monthly Aggregate: -43

YTD Aggregate: -265

  1. -265 after two months, ouch..

    • And it just got worse.
I suspect that the year’s purchases are just being ‘front loaded’, and that I will catch up somewhat later in the year. Starting two new projects, and then not getting anything finished in January really didn’t help.

    Neil,

    Does painting spiders count!?

Well done on the Normans and for keeping the momentum going. May I suggest giving your wallet to Mrs Shuck to look after for the rest of 2019?

Can I ask you where you got the spiders from?

That would be far too simple and logical. I fear that most of us care not for the dents in Neil’s wallet but instead want more to get more reviews. This is harsh but unfortunately true.
