Group hobby activity in a time of social distancing
The current Coronavirus epidemic has obviously impacted our ability to meet up and play games, but on the flip side, we now have lots of time to make an impact on painting our lead pile.
However, it’s still good to get social contact with your gaming friends, so we decided to combine the two and run a ‘paint and chat’ session on Skype.
The basic idea is that everyone tunes into a Skype chat and talk about all sorts of stuff whilst painting minis for the afternoon. It’s a fantastic way of spending a few hours – productive too. Not only do you make an impact on your lead mountain, but chatting with other hobbyists and friends at the same time is good for both the mind and soul.
This is what we managed to paint on Saturday afternoon (4th April) – though, to be fair, 90% of it was painted by Matt Slade!
We are doing it again today, and appear to have gained a few extra people, which is fantastic!
I think this may become a regular thing, so look out for notifications on Twitter.
Hey Dwarf! My friends and I have been doing this for quite a while now through the Tabletop Commanders FB page. We have had people from all over the globe join, and I now have friends that I would never of otherwise met! Have Fun!
I love the idea! Next time I get ready to work on my Gaslands stuff I may give something like this a try!
