Meeples & Miniatures – Episode #73

Download Episode 73

Welcome to Episode 73 of the Meeples & Minaitures Podcast.

In this show, I take a look at the new release from Ambush Alley Games & Osprey Publishing; the Force on Force Modern Wargaming Rules and the Road to Baghdad Scenario book.

As well as an in-depth review of the rules, the show contains interviews with Joseph MuCollough from Osprey Publishing, and Shawn & Robbie Carpenter from Ambush Alley Games. We discuss the new rules, how Osprey came to publish them, and what the plans are for the future.

All that, as well as some of the usual chat about what I’ve been gaming in the past few weeks.

It’s a packed show, so you may understand that it’s a bit longer than normal (2:27), but it seems that the majority of you would prefer this as a single download, so here it is.

I had a huge amount of fun producing this particular show – I hope you enjoy it.

Great pod cast Neil – have listen to 1:30 so far and am looking forward to the rest. Have pre-ordered Force on Force and have Cold War Gone Hot and Tomorrow’s War on my wish list. It’s exciting to see an independent rules writer be supported by a big publisher. I want to wish Shawn and Robby all the very best with their partnership with Osprey.

  3. Enjoyed this. The interviews were excellent – really informative and entertaining. And now . . . I’m ready for Veranda. 🙂

    • No pressure then…
Editing about 22% done. Will probably need another week – especially as I am supposed to be making scenery for Salute game…
But glad you liked the show. I thought it was my best for a while

  4. An epic Meeples, Neil. Like Snowcat, I thought the interviews were really well done. Nice to hear from Joe McCullough — he’s a great guy and was extremely helpful when I visited Osprey a couple of years ago.

Now, come on, crack on with that VftV! 🙂

  5. Very nice episode!

I feel the same as you do about Blood Bowl. In our last local league I ran a chaos dwarf team and I shaved off rerolls so I could play a minotaur, because it was fun, certainly not because it was smart. he never earned his wages, but he was great fun to play.

I have a gap in gaming period interest that stops after WWII and doesn’t pick up untill future/sci-fi, but the Force on Force rules sound like a real winner. Looking forward to Tomorrow’s War, and hope they’ll make a WWII, WWI & earlier version.

  6. Damn you Neil. You mad me order Force on Force. I’m a victim.
