Meeples & Miniatures – Episode 130 – In Her Majesty’s Name
Welcome to Episode 130 of the Meeples & Miniatures Podcast
In this show, hosts Neil Shuck & Mike Whitaker provide an in-depth review of the Steampunk Skirmish rules from Osprey Publishing: In Her Majesty’s Name.
Before that, we chat about what we’ve been up to, including an inpromptu mini-review of the new Sword & Spear ancients rules.
We hope you enjoy the show!

Great show as usual but when it comes to ancients, you’ll never pry my DBx rules from my cold liche like fingers…..
You mentioned using other figures and the creation of other companies in IHMN and talked about the online list creation resources. What was missed is that everything you need to customize your company is there in tables and formulae in the main book. Need a new weapon, armour or mystic power and there is guidance in the basic rules on how to create it without breaking the game. The only real weak spot is vehicles.
Just purchased ‘Sword & Spear’ based on your discussion. Hard to resist! 🙂
Cheers

Highly enjoyable episode, thanks very much. 🙂 Very entertaining and interesting, even though I’m not a Steampunk guy at all.
I don’t like steampunk, or the Victorian era, and my skirmish needs are met by Deadzone quite well at the moment. That said, I still enjoyed the show. I’d heard about IHMN before, but it was good to get a more in-depth overview.
I also went and bought Sword & Spear, as well as 3 boxes of Perry’s War Of The Roses figure to use with it. Meeples & Miniatures: stimulating the UK’s wargaming economy since 2008. 🙂 Plus I’m in the USA, so that’s foreign money you’re bringing in.
I’ll restrain myself from starting another period, but another good show nonetheless. And I for one would like to hear more Meeples from the Edge. (Would that be Episode II or IV?)
Hi Neil
Great eposode (as always!) Bought Sword and Spear and hoping to have a game soon. BTW do you know Amazon are selling IHMN & the first supplement for 99p (on kindle) at the moment. Ive got the printed books but its great to have them as back up. Also picked up Henrys book for just under a fiver, which ive also got in hb.
Stu
99p? How can that be feasible?
What can a chap say but bravo, gentlemen, bravo!
Our thanks for a splendid review of our little effort.
I’d be happy to contribute to a future podcast if you wish, though I am afraid my recorded voice sounds like Mike’s twin…
Cheers,
Craig.
