In this show I look at the recently released ancients ruleset, Augustus to Aurelian.

Good episode, thanks. I’m not really an ancients guy so I wasn’t totally captivated but it looks like this game is definately worth a look for 28mm ancients gamers. What’s the scale in terms of army sizes? More akin to Hail Caesar or more along the lines of Warhammer for instance?
Here! Here! Someone who finally get’s away from the dammed D6 (Excluding Force on Force).
Thanks that was very interesting (especially as I’ll be trying them on Sunday..)
Cheers, Simon
A very enjoyable listen. Nice to hear a focus on Roman Ancient Wargaming rather than broad brush Ancient Wargaming. I’m going to be giving them a try. Have been painting EIR army for some time and this really helps to focus efforts. I enjoyed the post-discussion ‘dissection’ too, I’m new to Meeples too and will be coming back for more.
Hi Roger
Thanks for the comment and welcome to the show – glad you enjoyed it

Another enjoyable show but when the writer seems to argue that he’s bringing a new idea to ancients gaming with limited control over units I must question that. Ed Texeira was doing that effectively with Warrior Kings 14 years ago.
